Providing:

• Consultation and assistance to colleges and universities who are:
  • Developing and implementing outcomes assessment programs.
  • Preparing outcomes-assessment and institutional-effectiveness components of accreditation self-studies.
  
  
• Workshops in:
  • Developing an assessment process.
  • Assessing student learning outcomes in undergraduate and graduate degree programs and in general education programs.
  • Assessing administrative and support areas.
  • Using the internet as a resource and tool for assessment activities.

Dr. Schechter:

• Has been a faculty member in experimental psychology, directed an academic program, and served as an institutional researcher and as an assessment director.
  
  
• Has been involved in college and university outcomes assessment for over twenty years and has presented numerous workshops at national and regional assessment conferences.
  
  
• Developed and maintains the well-known meta-list Internet Resources for Higher Education Outcomes Assessment.
  
  
• Directed the assessment components of North Carolina State University's 2004 SACS reaffirmation.
  
  
• Has coordinated campus-wide and focused survey projects and helped academic and administrative units develop and implement outcomes assessment programs.
  
  

Since retiring as NC State's University Director of Assessment at the end of 2004, Dr. Schechter has consulted on assessment, institutional effectiveness, and accreditation for campuses ranging from small local colleges to doctoral/research-extensive universities.
